| The
Sambo classes level ll were born out of a need to have a more intense training and
preparation for competitions. Already this year the four men UBC Sambo Team obtained
six medals at the Open World Sambo
Championships in Billings, Montana, USA. The team was trained by Michael CHERNYH who
is now coaching the level ll classes: Saturdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm and Sundays from 1:30
to 3:30 pm. More recently, Logan AILLES won 1st Place in Brazilian Jujitsu and submission wrestling at the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championships. The Sambo Level ll
welcomes enrolled UBC Sambo and Judo members exchanging experiences, cross training and
sparring. Drop-in guests are welcome for tryouts. They will have to sign a waiver. |
